Hi, I'm Anela
I have always found beauty in some of the strangest places; a toddler so intensely needing a specific rock, a father swooping up his daughter and smelling for a poop check, a vine growing along parent plant, a mother scrambling into an airport bathroom with a tiny fold up potty in hand, the way a small child reaches up for mom.
This life just keeps moving and I want to hold on tight to this beauty. I want to help you do this with your family with images that may just help you freeze time, even if just a little bit, to help you be present in your family's beauty.
My background: I fell in love with photography when I got the the photo editor gig of my college paper at while studying multimedia design. After working as a designer at a newspaper in Long Beach, I craved working more directly with people and was an elementary school teacher for 10 years until I had kids of my own. I live in Seattle and spend most of my time playing with my two kids and when he's not teaching 5th grade, my amazing husband.
Now photography serves as an artistic outlet in my life to learn about and honor other families. I'm so grateful to get to do this gig.
I'd love for you to take a look at my portfolio to see my style or read FAQs about what my sessions are like.
On a side, you may notice that my lovely daughter has smaller than typical eyes. This is due to something called BPES, learn more here.
I have always found balance, peace, and inspiration in quiet moments with the Hawaiian mountains, sea, and sky. My kids' names are due to this and my logo is as well. The sky in my logo comes from this magical view from my parents' lanai on Oahu.
